The most common versions of SunSystems 4 are 4.2.6 and 4.3.

There are a number of subtle differences between 4.2.6a and 4.3, but the two principal functional differences with 4.3 are:

• Supports a Global Security Framework, whereby operator logins are kept in line between the Windows environment and Sun, while 4.2.6a maintains its own login procedure.
• Includes an optional Windows®-based navigation menu
